Macauley Legrasse.
Along time ago, Mac was your classic detective-noir dick. Now he's just the regular kind.
He's a penis in a cheap suit.
Long past are his glory days of obscenely un-pc policing skills and Bruce Willis 'he's almost a hot old man, but not really' good looks.
Mac was essentially promoted to get him the hell out of the way. Unfortunately this Dilbert phenomena pushed him further and further up the ranks until such point as he. Levelled off. He reached a position of absolute authority, and absolute redundancy.
This only served to make him more of a jerk.
He also has a mysterious daughter. |
|
Wendle O'shea.
Macauley's assistant. Got into law enforcement through academic avenues, and as such is completely useless in the field. Has an uncanny ability of getting in between Mac, and the space in air that Mac's fist wants to suddenly be. Has a terrible idea of what 'business casual' is. WIll probably be written out of the comic because I dont like him.

| The Hunters: |
|
Dunsten.
Dunstens earliest memories involve a red-headed little girl and an undercity alleyway. The girl has since been blurred into vagueness in his mind, but the alleyway remains his clearest, most vivid concept of home.
He grew up alone, salvaging electronics and later... harvesting wetware from dead gangsters, and selling them to the black and grey markets. Earning a reputation for aquiring rare and valuable cybernetics from ridiculously risky locations, Dunsten began trading with prominent undercity gangs; including the V Club and the Angst Queen Army. Alot of the time, these gangs would trade guns and ammunition instead of money, which lead to his supplemental career as a gun smith and arms dealer.
Growing up where he did, Dunsten became overly paranoid of sneak attacks and ambushes. From an early age, he would regularly go without food in order to purchase sensory enhancements to reduce this risk. By the time he was in his late teens however, he had maxed out his body index; meaning he was physically unable to put any other foreign objects into his body without dying.
This would have ironic consequences, when optic nerve is blown during a heated confrontation... rendering him permanently blind. |

Miller. aka 'M86'.
A replicant, originally grown by the GeneThink Corporation as a 'Personnel Guarantor'. Assumed destroyed in the EMP bombing at the Woomera; Miller turned up months later but was declared 'unemployable' and recommended for decommission.
The events that occurred between his last assignment, and his emergence from the Australian bush altered his internal systems, displaying signs of budding sentience... undesirable for his position.
Miller was rescued by Dunsten, who empathised with his inability to come to terms with his trans-human status; and they became BFF

|
Rex Doberman.
Born a Furry, and from a long line of Furries, Rex would tell you his latin name was proof of his royal lineage. Reality is probably more grounded in the original Furry culture's penchant for role play and exaggeration; but telling him this would probably end in verbal abuse and crying. Rex has a certificate in social work, and volunteers for a gene company called Xengene. He was lumped with the nameless girl and assigned to look after her.
Rex is an elitest snob, who reads german philosophy in public, just to be seen doing so. |
